Tax holiday for gas pipelines
GAIL, a PSU which has been in the business of putting gas pipelines for more than 15 years had been asking for infrastructure status and also other incentives which fell in deaf years. Now 10 Years Tax holiday has been announced for new gas pipe lines . It looks too good to be a coincidence that a private oil giant is entering into gas pipelines business and the Tax hoilday has been announced.
Similar thing happened in late 90's when for mere 8 months Customs Duty on refinery equipment was made zero and in that widow period all the refinery equipment of a private player arrived!
