Scholraship scheme to fight school dropouts
Dear Minister,
I wish this scheme all success. But worry whether the implementation process might enable you to achieve any significant reduction in school dropouts. Possibility is merit students who any way would have studied upto Year 12 will receive the scholarship now and less intelligent (possibly would be dropouts) would be left out again.
I would prefer bank loan with zero interest to go to these less fortunate students and enable them to pay back at later years. In that sense, bank (including private banks) enter the loan market and ensure the droputs would continue further studies.
All willing students should be eligible as long as they continue studies. May this scheme eliminate the school dropouts completely.
