Subject: Indian
Hi, I fail to understand this concept of oppressed & downtrodden classes. India has been in existence for the past 60 years, before that we had over 200 yrs of British rule and another 300 yrs of Mughal rule. Did this rulers give preferential treatment on basis of caste? Weren't all oppressed equally? More so in their conversion zeal, the upper castes were the first to bear the brunt - the others simply converted. Ashoka was a Buddhist emperor and he destroyed the caste system creating equal opportunities for all. That was over 2000 years ago. So pls let me know when did this so called discrimination happen. Yadava community claims to be an OBC. Lord Krishna was a Yadava-- was he discriminated or worshipped? TN, Karnataka hv had reservations for the past 50 years - let these states provide quantified results and outcome of their experiments. Is it really helping the downtrodden or all benefits are being reaped by the creamy layer in garb of social justice and equality?

Yours Sincerely,
V V Kamat
